David H. Langstaff

David H. Langstaff

President and Chief Executive Officer of TASC, Inc.

Mr. Langstaff assumed the position of President & Chief Executive Officer of TASC, Inc. in March, 2011. He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of TASC, Inc. upon its acquisition by General Atlantic Partners and KKR in December, 2009, until his appointment as President & CEO; he remains a member of the Board of Directors. TASC, with over 5,000 employees and 2010 revenue in excess of $1.6 billion, is the premier, independent company offering advanced enterprise engineering, integration and decision-support and other technical services across the intelligence community, Department of Defense and civilian agencies of the federal government.

Previously, Mr. Langstaff was President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Veridian Corporation from its formation in 1997 until its sale to General Dynamics in August 2003. Veridian was an advanced technology company that specialized in mission-critical national security programs primarily for the intelligence community, military and other U.S. Government agencies involved in law enforcement and homeland security. Veridian was regarded as one of the preeminent companies in its field with a strong values-based culture, and its IPO was recognized by the Financial Times as one of the ten best global IPOs in 2002. Mr. Langstaff served as chief financial officer, chief operating officer, and chief executive officer of predecessor companies since 1984. Mr. Langstaff also served as chief executive officer and co-chairman of The Olive Group, a global integrated security company with offices in Dubai, London and Washington, DC, from August 2006 through December 2007.

Mr. Langstaff is a senior seminar moderator on values-based leadership with The Aspen Institute, chairs the Advisory Board of the Aspen Institute Business and Society policy program, is a Trustee of the Committee for Economic Development, and is on boards of other non-profit organizations in the fields of the arts, education and environment. In 2010, he assumed the role of Chairman of This I Believe, Inc., an educational organization dedicated to publishing and broadcasting essays written by people on the core values that guide their daily lives, and in 2009, he was named to the Defense Business Board, which provides independent advice to the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Defense. From 2004-2010, Mr. Langstaff served on the Board of Directors of SRA International (NYSE: SRX), where he chaired the Committee on Compensation & Personnel, and previously, the Long Range Planning Committee. He served on the Board of Directors of QinetiQ Group PLC (LSE: QQ) from 2009-2011, where he was a member of the Audit, Remuneration, and Governance Committees.

Mr. Langstaff has played recorders and other renaissance and folk instruments for over forty years and performs from time to time as a baroque soloist with amateur and professional orchestras.

Mr. Langstaff is a graduate of Harvard College, and the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. He has been married for over thirty years to Cynthia Shauer Langstaff, has four children and lives on a farm in Comus, Maryland.
