The Board is tasked by the Department 's Senior Leaders to examine topics of interest to the Department of Defense. The Chairman of the Board may also initiate work on timely and relevant topics. The Task Group assumes the responsibility for developing recommendations and providing an opportunity for delibration by the entire Board and public prior to the finalization and delivery of the recommendations to the Secretary of Defense.
