The Defense Business Board is tasked to examine topics of interest to the Department of Defense via a Terms of Reference letter signed by the Deputy Secretary of Defense. The Chairman of the Board assigns the topic to a Task Group consisting of selected Board members with both an interest and expertise in the subject matter to be addressed. The Task Group assumes the responsibility for developing recommendations and providing an opportunity for deliberation by the entire Board and the public prior to the finalization and delivery of the recommendations to the Secretary of Defense.
