LCDR Colin Roberts serves as the Navy Service Representative to the Defense Business Board. He has been a Navy Surface Warfare Officer since May 2003.
LCDR Roberts has served as a division officer in USS MASON (DDG 87) and USS WHIDBEY ISLAND (LSD 41). As a department head, he served as Operations Officer in USS JOHN S. McCAIN (DDG 56) homeported in Yokosuka, Japan, and then as European Operations Officer at Commander, Task Force 65/Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 60 in Naples, Italy. Most recently, he commanded USS ZEPHYR (PC 8).
Ashore, LCDR Roberts served as a Federal Executive Fellow at the RAND Corporation, as a surface warfare tactics analyst at the Office of Naval Intelligence, and as a navigation and ship handling instructor at the Surface Warfare Officer School (SWOS).
Colin holds a Master’s degree (International Policy and Development) from Georgetown University, a Certificate in International Affairs from the Johns Hopkins Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and a BA in Political Science (International Relations) from the University of Washington.
