Lieutenant Colonel Harrington is a native of Amsterdam, New York. He entered the Air Force in May 2005 after graduating from Clarkson University and receiving his commission through the Reserve Officer Training Corps. He first served as an aircraft maintenance officer supporting C-17 and KC-10 operations after completing the Aircraft Maintenance and Munitions Officer Course at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas. During his time in aircraft maintenance, Lieutenant Colonel Harrington deployed to Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and to Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
As a member of the Operation Experience Program, he transitioned into acquisition as a program manager in 2009 and held various assignments managing development and test of tactical data link, satellite communication, enterprise resource planning, classified, and mission planning systems.
Prior to his current position, Lieutenant Colonel Harrington served as Chief, Execution Oversight Secretariat, Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition Integration, Washington, D.C. In this role, Lieutenant Colonel Harrington was charged with overseeing the planning, management, and execution of all Service Acquisition Executive-level reviews on every major defense acquisition program in the Air Force.
He currently serves as the Air Force Assistant to the Defense Business Board.
