MAJ Jamaal Kirkland
MAJ Jamaal Kirkland received his commission through the Army Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia in August 2009. He is a graduate of the Ordnance Officer Basic Course and Combined Logistics Career Course (CLC3) at Fort Lee, VA. MAJ Kirkland’s first duty assignment was Camp Red Cloud, Korea with 17th Ordnance Company under 6th Ordnance Battalion from 2010 to 2012. He served as the Control and Executive Officer for an ammunition company.
MAJ Kirkland attended the Combined Logisticians Captain’s Career Course in April 2013 and upon graduation was assigned to ARCENT Strategy and Effects at Shaw Air Force Base. He served as the Logistics Officer in the Civil-Military Operations section. In 2014, MAJ Kirkland was assigned to 2D Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division and served as the Brigade Sustainment Plans Officer and assumed command of Fox Company, 1-9 Field Artillery Regiment where he commanded for 20 months. In 2019, he attended the Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
Prior to his current position, MAJ Kirkland served in the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) at Fort Drum, New York. In this assignment, he served as a Battalion Executive Officer in the 10th Division Sustainment Brigade and a Brigade Logistics Officer in the 2D Brigade Combat Team.
He currently serves as the Army Military Representative to the Defense Business Board.
